80. Charred

6" x 6"
oil on gessoboard

Whew! Over a week since I last posted - sorry 'bout that!
We've been a little under the weather around here - hopefully everyone'll be on the mend soon.

I've been itching to paint something gold or brassy, and my father-in-law supplied the perfect thing - his old trumpet. It lived through a fire last year, and if you know me at all, you know I love it this way!
All those extra colors and the green and blue patina - just so expressive.

This is so great! My daughter has been after me to paint her trumpet and I keep putting her off. What a great composition and shadows.
