83. Minnesota Morning

First off, I will apologize to those of you actually in Minnesota right now, -- I know you've seen more than your share of the white stuff this year -- sorry to bring you a little more.

This sunrise was on the day we left MN on our most recent winter trip to the area - it was January 2, 2010. And, it was a balmy -31°F. 
It's always sad to leave after visiting my parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends, etc., -- but, temperatures like that make heading back to Oregon just a little easier. :)

Really beautiful! You really captured the feeling of the sun peeking up in this painting. There are so many lovely touches in this painting...like the gold cast of light on the snow, the grays among the distant trees, and the slivers of blue on the trunks of the trees as the the light hits them. I love this.
