Mini 7. Yaquina Head Lighthouse

'Yaquina Head Lighthouse'

A couple of winters ago, we traveled to the Oregon Coast for high school basketball.
It was a gorgeous sunny day, and we enjoyed a little sightseeing on our way home.
Enjoy this mini!

373. Cannon Beach Morning

'Cannon Beach Morning'
6" x 6"
oil on gessoboard

An early September morning near Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, Oregon.
The tidepools are plentiful and crowds of folks gather to take a gander at sea stars and anemones.
And I guess I'm turning into a birder because I've recently gained the desire to see the tufted puffins that nest here in the spring. Maybe next year.
Enjoy!

Mini 3. Wheatland Sunset

'Wheatland Sunset'

A little sunset scene from our road trip this summer.
Montana is soo huge and takes too many hours to drive through, but the skyscapes of Big Sky country never disappoint.
Enjoy!

Mini 2. Leaving Mill A

'Leaving Mill A'
4" x 4"
oil on gessoboard

A mini painting of the view as we leave my sister's house. This road winds down the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge and offers some sweet glimpses of the river and the ridges of Oregon on the other side. I am having fun painting on a red ground and letting some of it peek through.
Enjoy!

Mini 1. Minnesota Pink

'Minnesota Pink'

After many years of substitute teaching at our local elementary school, I recently started grad school in pursuit of a 'real' teaching license. I absolutely love being all alone in my painting corner, but I also really love being part of our school community and putting energy into something outside of myself.
(And I get real lonely for all those school peeps during the summer, lol.)
I'm super grateful for the challenges and rewards of both my 'jobs', and I try to give my full effort wherever my feet find me each day.

So, as subbing starts back up and I'm in study mode, my painting time this fall is a little more precious. (I'm kind of using it as a reward to motivate my studying, lol.)
I've decided to make some mini landscapes on four-inch panels. I'm trying to keep it loose, as they say, and most of these will be done all in one sitting.
(I'll still hopefully get to some of my more detailed six-inchers as well.)

This first scene is from our trip to Minnesota this summer. The most beautiful display of mammatus clouds was breaking up, and the setting sun turned them pink. It was really fun to try to capture this evening!

**Note: Four-inchers will not be auctioned; I'll just put a buy now price on each.

372. Push My Buttons

'Push My Buttons'

oil on gessoboard

I went to a market a few weeks ago and these bouquets of Billy Buttons were right on the button for me, lol. They're such fun little dudes. They made me smile, and their brown paper wrappers were a treat to paint.
A good time all around!
Enjoy!
